Hello, i am a 21 yr old freelancing digital artist from the Philippines and i need your help. I am currently trying to acquire funds to escape my abusive relatives and cut them off entirely, they've been obsessing over wanting me to go to college to graduate and use me as a cash cow to the point they neglect my brother and even mocked his suicide attempts. After i made money as an artist at 16 my relatives began to praise me yet abandon me at the same time and leave me to take care of my brother, When i did go to college for my 1st year, they didn't bother to support me despite them wanting me to go to college so much and refuse to let me take a break. They made promises but never follow them. I went to therapy during college for undiagnosed ADHD and depression which they all knew, however they never bothered with support and instead hide it from other family members like my grandma because they think I'm insane. I don't believe that my relatives would ever listen to me as they treat me as more of a child and an idiot despite my age and achievements. My abusive parents are no longer in the picture since my mom passed away from a disease and my dad abandoned us after robbing everything from my mom when she died, leaving us with nothing.
I tried to keep this short so it's easier to read and i don't like asking for help but after rethinking about my decisions, time and time again. I decided that i wanted to escape mostly because of a Cat that's been my comfort throughout all of this, His name is Charlie and he's a street cat that i met when i moved into a boarding house. I wish to better myself and take care of him as thank you for always checking up on me when I'm at my lowest, I always held myself back from escaping because i felt i wasn't worth it but Charlie gave me the push to do something. While i feel terrible for asking for help. I need it more than ever in order to do this escape.
I still want to work hard to earn money for this escape and while i have this GoFundMe, there's also other things you can do to support me, such as buying art commissions from my Vgen account, buying a plushie of my OC(limited time) or sharing this. Anything helps!
Also for those wondering how a filipino is able to use GoFundMe, I'm entrusting this to a friend abroad that agreed to help me since GoFundMe isn't available in the Philippines.
