I am starting this fund for the purpose of helping the family of Daniel "Dee" Gregory, a kind and helpful human, held dear by his community. Dee spent his free time gardening. He loved his plants. He also loved his neighborhood. While out watering he could always be seen with a smile and a wave or kind words for those of us in the area. He was not just a kind man, but for many, a protector of sorts. You see, he ALWAYS kept an eye out. Day and night, Dee did his best to keep trouble away. He was known for keeping a lookout for not only fellow residents, but local business as well. He tirelessly and vigilantly ran off unsavory characters that constantly threatened nearby homes and businesses with vandalism, breakins and thefts. Not all heros wear capes, but he was one to many of us. Last week, while doing just that, he was senselessly shot down. With family by his side, On October 14th, he was declared brain dead. Dee, being the caring person he was, wanted to be an organ donor.

Dee was very close to his family, and is survived by his parents Laurie and Don, two sons, James and Brett, his fiance Jamie McClure, four brothers and sisters, and many nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts. At this time his family is waiting for medical testing so that his wish to be a donor can be fulfilled. A family that is devastated and needs every bit of support they can get. My hope for this fund is that his family will be less burdened with the ongoing medical costs, travel expenses to be with him, and final expenses when that time arrives. We are a tight community. Dee died watching out for us. So let's help look after his family now. Every single penny counts. As does every prayer, and every share of this page. So please, donate, share, spread the word.
