Update 5/15/24-

Unfortunately, Abbi has taken a turn. She has been moved back down to the PICU. Her BP has gone through the floor. They are going to do an MRI on her leg to see what is going on. Please send all the prayers you can!

Abbi was hospitalized at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus on Feb 27th with severe toxic shock syndrome due to having Influenza A, Strep A, and a very rare bacterial infection. In the very beginning of this she had to be intubated and was in a medically induced coma for 11 days. During the first 2 weeks of this, she had gone into kidney failure and liver failure along with the strep pocket landing in her right thigh.

She has had at least 20 debridement surgeries which have removed a lot of muscle and tissue from her right thigh. As of today (May 1), she is still fighting this huge battle. She is going in twice a week for wound vac changeouts and cleanings. It has been a very long exhausting battle that she is currently still fighting. But our girl is a trooper and will continue to fight and beat this no matter how long it takes.
