In 2022, Jennifer started having extreme stomach pain. That pain led her to being diagnosed with Vasculitis - the three main arteries leading to her stomach were blocked. In June of '22, they put a balloon in one artery to open it up and allow blood flow, which also meant having to take multiple medications. About a year later, she was unable to afford the increasing healthcare costs to see her doctors and take her medication, which led to her suffering in silence.
Fast forward to February 19th, 2025 - she was admitted to Ball Hospital for the pain, where they determined they could not perform the necessary surgery, so she was transferred to Methodist in Indy. On March 11th, 2025, she went under the knife to have her arteries reconstructed, a surgery that was risky but necessary to alleviate the pain. A surgery that should have taken 4 hours at most yet wound up taking more than 8. A surgery that left her unable to walk.
Jennifer now needs as much love and support as possible as she will have to learn to navigate a new daily life. The first steps in that are getting her a good, mobile wheelchair and installing ramps at her home. Jennifer and her family appreciate any support you can give to aid in these efforts.
