YSL Warriors 2020 Campaign
Donation protected
Greetings, Warrior Nation!
Last time we connected, we were launching our 2019 campaign and I’m pleased to say the Youth Service League Warriors 11U squad did not disappoint!
We played 87 games in 2019, highlighted by four exciting tournament victories this year against the best teams on the East Coast. One championship was earthed at the Cal Ripken facility in Myrtle Beach, SC in July against so tough competition. At the Wood Bat Classic In August, the Warriors overcame a 17 year old pitcher (!) from Patterson, NJ who threw the equivalent of over 100 mph (from little league distance) to take home the hardware. To punctuate an already incredible run, the Warriors went 13-3 this Fall, winning a thrilling best-of-three Championship Series against Brooklyn’s best. A perfect punctuation to a superb season.
We are writing to you again asking for your help. Your generous donations last year propelled 15 boys into the new school year closer than ever and fully aware there are no shortcuts to greatness. These lessons carry over into their schoolwork—one of our players was even on the cover of the New York Post for his academic achievements.
The money we raised last year allowed us to play and compete against the best. We stretch every dollar, we carpool, bunk 4 kids to a room and we cook our own meals, we share bats and jerseys become hand-me-downs to the next player. Your contributions literally help us pay for baseballs, umpire fees and groceries. The coaches all donate their time, knowing they are changing the trajectory of these fine young men. Your generosity was felt every game and we could simply not thrive without your support.
Humbly, we ask again for your support and would love you to come see us begin the 2020 season.
God bless you and happy holidays!
Gratefully,
The YSL Warrior Family
