Teddy Tait’s Terrific Comeback
Donation protected
If you know Kira, you probably know Teddy, the most beloved, chaotic boy. On the 4th of July, Teddy slipped out the door and ran straight into traffic, getting hit by a car at highway speed. The driver didn’t stop, but an absolute angel of a stranger blocked traffic, scooped him up, and carried him back to us, injured and bleeding.
We jumped in the car and drove 45 minutes to the nearest open vet, praying he’d make it. He held on like the fighter he is. After hours of stabilization, we had to rush him downstate to a 24-hour care center where they put him in an oxygen chamber, sedated him, and worked to reduce the swelling in his brain. His outlook was grim, he couldn’t sit up, see, or even go potty on his own.
But Teddy wasn’t ready to give up. Within 24 hours, he made a huge recovery: he was sitting, wobbly-walking, going potty outside, and starting to track with his eyes. Miraculously, he has no broken bones or internal bleeding, just head trauma and some scrapes.
Teddy is finally home, but he still needs brain scans and specialist appointments to make sure he fully recovers. His vet bills are already at $5,000, and we’re asking friends, family, and anyone who loves our little guy to please help if you can.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to cover what we’ve spent so far. Teddy has so much love left to give, and we dream of him becoming a therapy dog to share that love with others. Thank you all so much for the prayers, positive energy, and support. We truly couldn’t do this without everyone who loves Teddy so so much.
