Hello….my name is Dawn and I am starting this gofundme for a dear friend that needs everyone’s support financially and spiritually! Here is their story.
Paul and Jenn met in 2015, and after a whirlwind courtship, they married in 2016. Jenn had been working in State public service since 2011 and loving every minute of her new life. In 2017 they noticed something was wrong when Paul began having trouble following the GPS to and from work. Through 2017 and 2018, they worked hard to correct dietary issues because they thought diabetes was the problem. In 2019, Jenn was mandated to work from home, which was a blessing, because Paul's cognitive issues intensified and Paul would be unable to do his job or would drive and become disoriented and confused, which required Jenn to take time off work or get up in the middle of the night to go find him. In 2019 and 2020 Jenn called many doctors begging them to see Paul, but many refused to see him at all. In October 2021, Paul had to stop working because the cognitive deficiency became too great and made his driving and working as a security guard or in the insurance field impossible. Finally in September 2021, Paul was referred to a Neurologist, who did some testing and in November 2021, 1 week before Jenn's birthday, Paul was diagnosed with Early On-set Moderate to Severe Alzheimer's Dementia through MRI and PET brain scans. At that point, Jenn was still working for the State and, in order to make the bills possible to pay on 1 salary, she sold Paul's car, being forced to take $3,000 less than what they owed. In addition, Jenn sold as many items as she could, to include her jewelry and then refinanced her only vehicle and pulled out the equity to try and pay down the debts. It looked like things were going to be alright, until April 2022, when the State separated Jenn from employment. She couldn't return to the office to work because the requirement for Paul's care was too great. It had become a 24/7 job for Jenn to care for Paul and he couldn't be and still can't be left alone. Until now, they have been living on their savings, which has run out, and praying that the disability would be approved. The disability that was supposed to be approved and paid out by March 2022 has not been approved yet and may not be approved any time soon. With 1 week left in July, and for several months to come, Jenn is unable to pay for her rent, or the rest of the bills, to include her car and insurance payment, fuel to get Paul to and from appointments, groceries, utilities and any medications not covered by State insurance.
