Help Me Help My Boy

I don’t usually do things like this, but it’s time to put my pride aside and ask for help. This is no longer just about me—this is about getting an innocent little soul the care he desperately needs and deserves.

Five years ago, this beautiful boy came into my life. He had been dumped, passed around between homes, and misunderstood until he finally found his forever home with me and Mills. He’s always been a bit awkward and not everyone “gets” him—but we do, and we love him dearly.

When I adopted him, my circumstances were very different. I was in a much better position financially and emotionally, and I never imagined I’d be where I am now—struggling just to keep his head above water.

In December last year, he developed an internal hernia near his bum, which made it hard and painful for him to go to the toilet. A vet misdiagnosed him at first, thinking it was an infection. He was given antibiotics and painkillers, but it quickly became clear they weren’t helping. I took him for a second opinion, and they discovered the hernia. He had surgery, and for a while, everything seemed better—he was happy again, back to his old self.

That surgery cost £2,000, which I’m still paying off monthly (£160 until Christmas). It’s been a financial strain, but I’ve been managing because seeing him well made it worth it.

Unfortunately, a couple of months ago, the problems came back. He began struggling again, leading to more vet visits, more medications, and more emotional and financial stress. I’ve been walking him up to five times a day to help, which has meant working less and earning less. Despite everything, he’s now deteriorating again.

Today, things took a turn for the worse—he started pooping blood. I’m devastated and scared.

I’ve spoken to the vets, and they’re willing to help, but I can’t take on a new payment plan while I’m still paying off the last one. He urgently needs an enema, an X-ray, and possibly more treatment to figure out what’s really going on and how to help him. Sadly, his insurance won’t cover this, as he’s had digestive issues since the beginning.

I’m about £960 away from finishing the previous bill. I’m trying to raise around £1,000 to cover this next round of care—whether it’s to finally fix the problem or, if it comes to it, to make sure he’s no longer in pain.

Any donation, no matter how small, or even just a share, would mean the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness x Jen xx
