Gwen's Home Sweet Home

Gwendolyn Cooper is a woman who considers her cup half-full, no matter what adversity she faces.  She is strong-willed, determined, and the kindest soul you will ever meet.  Her smile is contagious and you can't help but feel energized and happy when you leave her.

She has been trained to work in several professions and has always had a job or two to support herself.  Most recently, she was a hairdresser at a Houston salon for 12 years and had many steady clients who consider her a dear friend.  Everyone that's around her  loves her!!

About two years ago, Gwen was diagnosed with cancer and fought for her life while enduring massive doses of chemotherapy.  This has taken its toll on her health.  She had to stop working at the salon because of the cancer and has been unable to work due to the neuropathy that has affected her legs.  She doesn't own a car and has a very difficult time making it to the bus stops and walking where she needs to go.  Simple tasks are now high hurdles for her.

As a result, she is having trouble paying her mortgage and is in jeopardy of losing it.  Her monthly payment is $465.55,  which is much less than any low-end rental would be if she sold her home.  She has very limited income, so she has to use it to pay for her every day bills, and medications.   She is a very proud person and never asks for help, even if she desparately needs it.  So, some of her friends set up this page to help her to become financially stable again.  Please contribute to this fund to pay off the morgage on her home - any amount is greatly appreciated.  With her home paid off, she will be able to become financially independent again.
