Hi, my name is Xander. I'm 20 years old and, and for the past five years I've known who I truly am: a transgender male. For the last two years, testosterone has helped me take important steps towards living authentically - but there is still one more step I need to take.

Next year, I'm hoping to travel to Turkey to have top surgery. This surgery is not cosmetic for me; it is essential. It represents comfort, confidence, and the ability to exist in my own body without daily distress. The weight on my chest is both physical and emotional, and the change to finally let that go would change my life.

I am currently working toward training as a teacher, and it would mean everything to begin my career feeling at home in my body - to be able to stand in front of others with confidence, focus, and peace, rather than discomfort and dysphoria. This surgery would allow me to move forward into adulthood and my profession without carrying a burden that has followed me for years.
