My name is Marcela. The beautiful young man in the campaign photo was Miller Johnson. He was the second oldest son of my closest, most loyal, most enduring friend, Sue Graves. Sue and I have a history that is a book in and of itself, suffice it to say that she helped me save my life almost two decades ago, and our bond and loyalty is not definable with mere words. Miller died yesterday, March 16th, 2016 in a twist of fate so cruel it defies description.
Sue fell off a ladder at work a few years ago, shattered both of her feet, and has been battling the worker's compensation and other so-called help systems since, for a livable income, which shrinks incrementally each year, and has forced her to work a job that is breaking her body and spirit to almost unbearable levels. She lives in chronic pain, and continues to support everyone around her, but especially her surviving children Haleigh, Kevin and Robyn, their spouses, and several grandchildren, in everything they undertake and go through as young adults and parents. And now she has lost a child and we all wish to lay him to rest with some dignity.
Please help me help Sue and her family provide a service for Miller without setting her further in debt and a living standard no-one ougt to endure, never mind someone so valiantly surviving the scars and bruises inflicted by the cruelties of the systems and world we live in.
Miller's service will occur within the next 7 days and if I could I would cover every penny of it, but as it stands this is not a great time financially for people in my chosen-field of social work and other human services.
No amount is too small or insignificant, and every penny collected here will go directly toward Miller's service.
