Help Jeremiah’s Family

- Hi Everyone, I’m raising funds for a needy family.
- Help Jeremiah's Parents
- On December 4th, Elijah V. Williams Jr., an Army veteran, was following his regular weekly workout routine at his neighborhood gym when he suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed, a victim of a stroke. He was rushed to the hospital, but for the next 7 hours, his family didn't know where he was. Finally, he was identified and the police came by to notify his family. They rushed to the hospital, finding him unconscious in the Emergency Room. He remained that way until his heart failed 3 days later, leaving behind his disabled son, Elliot and disabled daughter-in-law, Tricia and grandson Jeremiah. They were all dependent on Elijah as the family's sole provider for their shelter needs.
Making matters worse, their landlord had doubled their rent 2 months ago as part of his divorce settlement. So, there is no way that Elliot and Tricia can remain in their home without financial support, for which Elijah was the sole provider.
This fundraiser will help with funeral arrangements and future living expenses for Jeremiah's parents as they grieve and transition to living on their own without their father and grandfather. Hopefully, your kindness and generosity will remove any additional financial worry and insecurity in their lives.
Elliot, Tricia and Jeremiah will need lots of support to navigate this tragic loss. We hope to raise enough funds, so they can focus on healing during this painful time. We are thankful for any support that you may be able to provide.
- Elliot's Statement
- My Dad went to the gym on December 4th at 11 am. Several hours later, we were wondering where he was, but calls to his cell phone were unanswered. At 6 pm a policeman came to our door and informed us that my Dad had collapsed at the gym and was taken to the hospital. Upon arriving at the hospital, we were told that my Dad had a brain bleed and was not expected to recover.
We were in shock, since we have been dependent on my Dad for our transportation, shopping and income needs for many years as our physical conditions have worsened. I felt devastated and distraught as reality set in. I have myofacial syndrome, which causes tension knots in muscles all over my body, making it difficult to walk without the assistance of my walker. My wife has multiple sclerosis and is unable to drive. I couldn't eat for the first 24 hours after my Dad passed, since I was so upset. We are heartbroken and our lives are forever changed without him here.
My Dad was a devoted grandfather, helping my 9 year old son Jeremiah with his math and reading lessons during and after his online classes. With my physical condition, it is difficult for me to write and help my son. Jeremiah slept in his grandfather's bedroom, so they were very close.
I am an only child, so don't have any siblings for support. There are not many family members around to offer help.
My Dad's phone is locked, so I can't even contact our landlord or receive any incoming calls. I have to call my one uncle if I need transportation anywhere.
Whatever is given will be deeply appreciated beyond words, from the bottom of our hearts.
