Hi, I go by Daisy (I used a photo with my dog above because I frankly do not know how to make a cover photo for an ask like this) and I am looking for help with legal fees to bring my rapist to justice. Trigger warning- a lot of things, rape, miscarriage, abuse. It's a buit of a story.

This man had made an eight hour long recording of himself raping me during a miscarriage back in 2021. I reported this to det. Cheryl Cross of the OPP, who arrested him for the rape after finding sufficient evidence from me that:

1) I had medical proof of the miscarriage

2) His verbal abuse over texts (calling me a piece of shit for miscarrying) and confirmations of physical violence

3) A transcription of the recording including parts where he became violent and parts where I told him I could not "do it" (have the sex he was trying to have), and all the sobbing and hysterical crying in between

4) The recording itself, that took me nearly a year to find out he made and had shared with several of his friends (who in turn shared it, and so on...)

She agreed this was enough to lay charges, arrested him, and then dropped everything because (and I got this on tape) he said I 'wanted to give him oral sex' and that was believable enough for her to drop the entire thing. Verbatim, she admitted she took him at his word and did not require any evidence. She has made clear to me the recording is legal and apart from suggesting to him once that he do not share it, she has not actually stopped him or his friends from sharing the recording any further.

I opened an investigation with the OIPRD (because of what the detective had done in dismissing all my evidence, her failure to protect me and how it took her over a year to take this report from me in the first place), and as of today (December 18th, 12:44pm) it is ongoing.

Given this, I had tried to submit a private prosecution to lay charges at this time but unfortunately I missed all the calls from the crown (they call with an unknown number, and given the circumstances I was avoiding all unknown numbers) so I was unable to get past the pre-enquete.

I am desperate for him to face criminal charges so this recording can be laid to rest and I do not have to wonder day in and day out what he, or what the other men he sends this to, are doing with it.

He is sharing this recording to this day, as I was recently taunted by one of his friends online claiming I was 'seducing' him with my miscarriage. They follow me throughout my private life and career, (men have come to my home demanding to see me, knives left in my mailbox, I am texted by random people that approach me in person at any event I attend asking if I know these men. I believe all of this is related to the obsession my ex and his friends have with me now because of that recording) making sexual statements about me to anyone who will listen, finding large groups online to talk about me in sexual ways. Nothing has been done by the law to stop them.

I recently spoke with a lawyer asking if I was able to, basically, resubmit a private prosecution. I was told that yes, I could do that, but it would be expensive- and that there was no guarantee it would work, but there is a chance. I need to take that chance.

If you have anything to spare, please help me. I am struggling to go about my day to day life knowing there are several, dozens, if not hundreds of men with access to a recording of myself being raped during my miscarriage, and that it is somehow legal here in Canada.

I cannot afford a lawyer at present (being a mother and student), and am facing heavy discrimination with local law enforcement because of my sex work, but I would like to fight this as much as I am able.
