Here we are: middish-July. I am finding within myself the deep need to circle back and express my profound gratitude for your radical generosity and kindnesses of the months of April, May and June. Caught up in the swirl of figuring out how to reopen consciously, and then caught up in the long overdue global events of our collective re-awakening to racial injustice; I find myself needing to stop, take a breath, drop into my heart and fully express the profundity of those months. They were an initiation of sorts.
I am not the same person. This humble little endeavor is the same sweet spot, and, not the same either. You have transformed, transmuted us into something more elevated and brighter. We are transformed by gratitude itself; becoming gratitude itself.
If you had asked me at the end of April beginning of May when we were on the precipice looking into the abyss of oblivion, would the doors be open, the lights on and us being of service to the best of our abilities in middish-July; I would have replied, “Unlikely”.
Going through the process of being at peace with letting it all go, or planning a strategic retreat to online only, to asking for your support and having the call answered with such enthusiasm was my own heroines’ journey.
Your words of love and support, your actions in the practical world of supporting our Bookshop online, booking online readings, purchasing gift certificates to give us some operating funds and your enthusiastic response to our GoFundWe campaign are acts of generosity and kindness that are stored away in the treasure chest of my heart; each and every one of them forever and a day.
The doors are open. The lights are on. Love is in the house. I am in eternal gratitude. I am gratitude itself.
