Hi everyone, my name is Cristian and I’m asking for help for my 9-year-old Chihuahua, Luna.

On 9/1/25 I took her to AAVEC after noticing something was really wrong. That night they told me she had pyometra, which is a deadly infection. They recommended I take her to the Spay Now Clinic in Columbia, MD the next morning because it would be more affordable (AAVEC Charges 5-7k, SPAY NOW Charges $700).

On the morning of 9/2/25 I brought her to Spay Now, and after getting her vitals and monitoring her the vet there told me the surgery was very risky and she might not make it through. Her kidneys were weak, her blood pressure was low, and her body temp had dropped. Still, the surgery was her only chance, and i had no choice but to go through with it.

After surgery I immediately took her back to AAVEC so she could be hospitalized and monitored. They needed $2,700 up front or they would have to release her back to us, They then gave me an estimate of $5,500 for her full stay and recovery since she’s in critical condition and at risk of sepsis and kidney failure.

Right now Luna is fighting for her life. My family has already spent what we can, but the bills are piling up and we can’t cover it alone. Luna Girl is our family and we just want her to have a fighting chance to make it through and to be the little crazy gremlin she once was.
