Bryan and his family are facing an incredibly difficult season. After a hospitalization for cardiac issues and discharge in October with unresolved symptoms, Bryan was unable to continue work. Despite a pending eviction notice and insurance not willing to cover necessary cardiac medications, he was denied emergency assistance and disability. On December 4th his condition worsened to the point of cardiogenic shock and another unexpected hospitalization. Seconds from death per his cardiovascular team, Bryan required two forms of emergent life support (ECMO and Impella). He has remained hospitalized in the ICU and will need placement of a battery operated artificial heart pump (LVAD), and potentially a heart transplant in the near future.

​While the medical team does their best to stabilize Bryan's condition in the hospital, we remain uneasy knowing the barriers he and his family face outside the hospital. Bryan"s partner Samantha and his two children, ages 3 and 4, are waiting at home unsure of what is to come. With this fundraiser we are hoping to shield those innocent children from homelessness and ease the difficult path ahead. The monetary resources of our immediate family have run out, and we find ourselves in the less than ideal position of asking something of others. With support from friends, colleagues, and even strangers- we hope to buy more time for state and federal programs to realize this man is absolutely too sick to work when his heart can't beat on its own; he and his family deserve to stay housed nonetheless. To ensure my brother can focus on the gravity of his medical condition without the added threat of homelessness looming, we are asking for donations.
