In August, Mary’s sister passed away and named Mary as both the trustee of her estate and the personal representative in her will. In the midst of her grief, she has stepped forward with love to care for her niece and provide stability during a heartbreaking transition.
Alongside this, she has been caring for her grieving mother and navigating the difficult family dynamics that loss often brings. She is also responsible for her sister’s affairs, which include managing two properties, their mortgages, utilities, and taxes, as well as supporting her sister’s insurance company and ensuring that payroll and overhead are covered through this transition.
The personal toll has been immense. Mary has already shouldered substantial immediate costs and now faces tens of thousands of dollars in additional expenses. Because these responsibilities have required her to pause her own work, she has been left without the income she relies on to cover her living costs.
Her birthday was yesterday, and while there was little space for celebration, this fundraiser is a way to stand beside her in an impossible moment. Contributions will go directly toward supporting her living expenses and helping her survive the weight of these responsibilities. Any amount will help lighten the load and remind Mary that she is not carrying this alone.
