Zane's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
As a parent, one of the hardest things to do is watch your child suffer, regardless of age. Another hard thing is to ask for help.
Zane was involved in a dirt bike vs side by side accident on February 17th 2024. While on his bike, Zane collided with a SXS head on and had to be life-flighted out of the Owyhee's. From the 17th until the present (February 23rd), he has been hospitalized in the ICU. He suffered a kidney laceration, compression fractures on his T4 through T6 spine, a pneumothorax causing a collapsed lung and, most severely, a grade 5 liver laceration. He has had a chest tube draining fluid from his lungs since his arrival and will need procedures on his liver in the coming days.
Zane is tough as nails. With the help of his friend's that were with him in the desert and the amazing life flight EMT's, he was able to survive the flight to the hospital when most with that severe of a liver laceration wouldn't. He is expected to remain in the hospital for the time being until he is stable enough to go home, looking to be at least several more days.
He recently started a new job and was three weeks away from the ability to have medical insurance. This means he is currently without and we are hoping to raise whatever we can to help pay for this costs of his care over the last six days as well as the coming days. For those that have helped in numerous ways already, thank you. From the depths of my soul, thank you all so much for anything you've been able to do to make this a little easier on Zane and his family. We all love him so incredibly much and want him to be better as soon as possible.
For those that are able to donate here, a tremendous thank you as well. We are all fortunate to be part of a community that comes together for those we love. Not just the Treasure Valley, but Idaho in general. To Zane's friends who helped save his life, I will owe you a debt that can never be repaid. I just hope you know how grateful we are that you were there for him in his time of need. No words can express that kind of gratitude.
Zane is headed for a long road to recovery but, surrounded by his friends, family and amazing group of supporters, he will undoubtedly do it with a smile on his face, a witty remark or two and with an amazing community surrounding him.
Thank you. From the depths of our hearts, thank you.
