Hello, my name is Samir. You might know me as Sam or Frenchy!

I have tried to stay away from this, but here I am, asking for help.

I have been here in Bolinas for almost 23 years, and I now need to go back to France to help my elderly mother, and will be leaving as soon as possible.

As some of you may know, I underwent two major surgeries since 2018 after becoming seriously ill.  As a result, I spent my entire savings, and continue to have outstanding bills.

I have not been able to work since my surgeries and the long time it is taking to heal both body and soul, compounded by the
Covid….situation.

The money raised here will also cover my plane ticket to France, in addition to expenses for this transitional time in my upcoming
relocation.

It feels humiliating to ask for help. Yet, these last few years have been humbling ones.

I am so very grateful to all of you who I have played music with, laughed and cried with, shared stories, hugs, journeys, dinners together, and so much over the years, and I am heart broken to have to leave.

My heart will always be here. I fell in love with this beautiful land when I first arrived, and my heart and my art have grown with you all who have shared kind words, hugs, love.

I dream to come back.  May it be so!
