Kuth Family Medical Help

My husband Ryan has had to take time off work to recover from an autoimmune illness, and it's taking him longer to recover and return to work than we'd hoped. Between not working and frequent doctor visits, we've flown through our savings and are now rapidly racking up our credit card.

As Ryan continues to take the time he needs to recover, we ask for your support to help us pay our bills, pay for continued doctor visits, and to pay off our debt.

More on Ryan's illness:
This has been a long journey for us, I'm actually amazed we've made it this far financially, and I'm amazed Ryan worked through as much as he did.

Back in January 2014, we had just been married a few months (and just got pregnant) and Ryan became unable to sleep in the house we had moved into. He would just get this inexplicable headache/brain fog and not be able to fall asleep. He started staying the night with friends or relatives wherever he could manage to get a little sleep. But his health degraded over the next few months to the point he couldn't sleep anywhere, and no one was able to tell us what was wrong. We moved to a new house in April thinking it might be mold or something in the old house but he got worse not better. We eventually put together that he was experiencing chemical sensitivities and what was essentially an autoimmune disease where his immune system became extremely weak and extremely over-reactive at the same time, so that his body essentially wouldn't rest and was constantly on the alert- thus the sleep issues, and constant decline in health since his body wouldn't allow itself to rest in order to heal. We found more answers with a Naturopathic Doctor on Whidbey Island, and found a local Naturopath who was able to help treat Ryan on a regular basis, and she helped heal his chemical sensitivities so that he was able to sleep again. It was only shortly before Jack was born that Ryan was finally able to sleep in our house with me again.

From August 2014 when Jack was born, til about December 2014, Ryan's body continued to heal from the chemical sensitivities, and also started detoxing many toxins and heavy metals it had picked up and held onto due to such a weakened immune system. The heavy metal detox took a hard toll on his body though, and he started developing digestive discomfort and having a difficult time eating food.

By March 2015, he could hardly eat at all. Around that time he went several weeks only able to consume liquids, and was dealing with severe gut pains. He lost a scary amount of weight and got sickly pale. With our doctor's help he developed a diet of 5 food items his stomach could handle (basically baby food; goats milk and several squash like veggies), and was forced to take time off work so that he could eat gradually throuout the day and let his body rest and spend it's energy on digesting and healing.

As of this month (July) he's gained about half his weight back, and his diet has extended from 5 food items to about 15, mainly consisting of fruits and vegetables. His main source of fat and protein is goat's milk. His energy level is much better, but it will still wear him out to eat a meal. We had hoped for him to be well enough to return to work in a month or two, but it's proving to be a much longer road to health.

Thank you for reading, and for caring about our story and situation. We have no idea how we'll be getting by for the next few months, but have trusted Jesus to take care of us this far, and He's done exactly that.
