Joe Coffee Employee Relief Fund

UPDATE: We are thrilled and moved by the support our greater community has shown for our staff members who have been impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. We’ve reached a major milestone in hitting our initial fundraising goal! To every single one of you who has contributed, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We have adjusted our goal for our next milestone and will continue fundraising through mid-April so that we can deliver the biggest impact to our staff in their time of need.
In response to the sudden financial strain this crisis has put on our staff, Joe Coffee has created an Employee Relief Fund for those in dire need of aid, and we are pursuing every possible avenue to support our staff with the limited means we have available in this time of crisis. The loss of hours and tips takes a significant toll on our team members. To that end, we have also launched this fundraising effort for those friends of Joe Coffee—near and far—who are able to give back directly to the service workers who have made their days happier, more welcoming, and more caffeinated.
We are aiming to raise $22,000 and are committed to being transparent and equitable in the management and disbursement of these funds, which is being managed by a leadership committee at Joe Coffee. Once fundraising has come to a close, we will be issuing dividends, calculated based on average weekly hours worked, to hourly employees who have had their employment impacted by the COVID-19 crisis via checks.
