A Call for Community: Help Zach Fight Cancer
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, Neighbors, and Compassionate Strangers,
With a heavy heart and a plea for help, we reach out to you today. As many of you know, last year Zach faced testicular cancer with optimism and grace and won, buoyed by the support of our community. Yet our joy was short-lived. In a follow-up visit this year, we received devastating news: Zach's cancer has returned aggressively, metastasizing to his lungs.
Zach is 37 years young, extremely caring, loyal, and the funniest guy we know. This sudden, unexpected and devastating news has turned our lives upside down, plunging us into a whirlwind of uncertainty and fear.
As Zach battles this cruel disease, he requires extensive medical treatment including 4 rounds of chemotherapy. Following this, he and his father will relocate near Duke Hospital for a bone marrow/stem cell transplant. The treatment schedule is rigorous, with alternating periods of treatment and rest, slated to end in November. These treatments have left Zach incapacitated and in and out of the emergency room, with the most challenging and frightening procedure yet to come. Additionally, they come with exorbitant costs, leaving us with medical bills that seem insurmountable.
We believe in the power of community and cannot face this challenge alone. That’s why we’re turning to you for help. Your contribution, no matter the size, can make a world of difference in Zach’s journey. Every dollar will go directly towards his medical expenses and ongoing care, alleviating some of the financial strain and allowing him to focus on what truly matters—his health and his fight against cancer.
Please consider donating and sharing Zach’s story with your networks.
Zach, his parents Glenn & Sandra, his siblings Stephanie & Emily (my amazing partner), as well as our dogs, Jasper and Zephyr (who love their uncle dearly) all thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion, generosity, and unwavering support.
With heartfelt gratitude.
