Thailand 2019

In high school, we went to Thailand with Bellevue Christian School three summers in a row and worked with local ministries and missionaries. We built relationships with children in various living situations, helped financially support projects including buildings for childrens homes, and visited ZOE International to learn more about human trafficking and to worship with and spend time with children rescued out of the industry. It changed our lives and we always knew that we would go back someday.
We have been dreaming about going back to Thailand since we got on the plane to come home in 2017, and it is finally happening this spring!! We are planning to leave on May 28th and come back on June 8th.
The first part of our trip will be spent in Chiang Mai staying at Mountain View Guest House, a Christian hotel run by our friends and used by various missionaries, tourists, and YWAM teams. While in Chiang Mai, we are going to return to our favorite children in the world at Sower House and Breanna's House of Joy, partnering to meet any needs they might have, including helping run a church service and providing lunch for everyone afterwards. In the mornings while the kids are in school, our friend Doi is taking us to schools to teach English to local students.
We also are returning to ZOE to learn even more about human trafficking, see how they have used our financial support to grow, hear how we can continue to support them, and show the love of Jesus to children ages 0-18 who have already been enslaved.
Pattaya is a beach town in Thailand that is notorious for sex tourism and modern day slavery that often remains hidden during the day. We are planning on spending the last few days of our trip in Pattaya, praying for the city, for rescue, and for changed hearts of traffickers and buyers. We are partnering with YWAM's ministry in Pattaya, Tamar Center, that houses girls coming out of the bars and provides them with counseling, rehabilitation, and a sustainable job. We will be spending some time there, learning more about Pattaya and supporting their businesses by buying jewelry and art made by the girls.
We are also praying about partnering with Rescue Freedom, another close friend of Bellevue Christian School, and their ministry in Pattaya, as well as Overlake Christian Church's work in Pattaya.
We have been able to maintain strong relationships with many of these people, and are so excited to see them again. Thank you for support, whether it is financial, prayer, encouragement, or sharing our story!!
