On August 31st, our world turned upside down. My 14-year-old son, Ashwanth, was struck by a car and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. Since that day, he has been fighting for his life with extraordinary courage and resilience. Every day in the hospital has brought new challenges, and Ashwanth has endured multiple brain surgeries, countless tests, and long days of uncertainty. He is still unable to walk, eat, or speak, and relies fully on a G-tube for nutrition.
Our family has been by his side every step of the way, holding onto hope and doing everything we can to support his recovery. The road ahead is long, and Ashwanth needs extensive rehabilitation, including physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Unfortunately, insurance is not covering several critical therapies he urgently needs, and the mounting medical costs have become overwhelming. We are also facing expenses for essential equipment and long-term care to give Ashwanth the best chance at recovery.
We are reaching out to our community and beyond for support. Any amount helps and means more than you know. Your kindness and generosity will help us provide Ashwanth with the care he needs to heal and regain his independence. Thank you for standing with us during the hardest time of our lives. – The Kalidas Family
