Today my little sister, Amber Lewis, has passed away. Less than a year after my little brother, Dustin. This past year has been an extremely heart heavy time for our family. Last August, Dustin committed suicide, at the age of 30. Today, Amber has also passed, at the young age of 27. She leaves behind her love Wilks, her two beautiful children Gabriel, who is 5 and Madison who is 2. She also leaves behind myself and our other brother Ian, mom and dad Dolly and Herman Lewis, numerous nieces and nephews, friends, aunts, uncles, etc.
Amber and Dustin struggled with Heroin addiction for many years. Although, we all have done what we could to be there for them, it just wasn't enough. The hold this drug had on them just was too high. Mom did everything she could to help both Dustin and Amber. She always had her door open. She has had custody of Gabriel and Madison for the past 2 1/2, almost 3 years.
They went to rehab numerous times to seek assistance, but insurance only covered so much and they didn't get to stay as long as they should have to get the help they needed. We all tried talking to them, telling them how loved they were. Nothing we said or did was going to make a difference.
Through all of the pain our family is feeling right now, we are asking for your support. With Dustin passing away just 10 1/2 months ago, and now Amber, we have too many funeral expenses. Dustin's funeral still hasn't been paid off and now there are new funeral expenses for Amber. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated by our entire family.
Thank you all for your love and support.
