Hi everyone, my name is Megan, and I never imagined I’d be writing something like this. In early October, I received the life-changing news that I’ve been diagnosed with Stage IIb breast cancer. Those words still don’t feel real — but what has been real is the whirlwind of doctor visits, scans, treatments, and hard days that are to follow.

I’m currently under the care of an incredible oncology team at Prisma Health Cancer Institute, and while I’m deeply grateful for them, the reality is that cancer treatment is not only physically and emotionally exhausting — it’s also incredibly expensive. Between chemotherapy, imaging, medications, and infusions, the financial strain will eventually become overwhelming for my family.
