Denise and her family need our help and support!
In 2019, when Denise was only 12, she noticed a growth on her neck that grew quickly. After a visit to her pediatrician and several tests, she was sent to a specialist at Stanford who diagnosed her with thyroid cancer. Denise was able to get surgery to remove her thyroid, but sadly, her most recent scan and blood tests show that the cancer has spread to her lungs and kidneys. This past week, she had another scan and biopsy to help the doctors figure out the right treatment plan moving forward. (I will give an update on the treatment plan after her next appointment.)
Denise's mom and dad have been hit hard financially due to Covid 19. Eleazar lost work due to restaurants shutting down. Edith needed to give up work to attend Denise's appointments, procedures, and help care for her after surgery. Luckily, some of the work has come back for Eleazar and Edith has been able to pick up some part-time work, but they are still struggling to make ends meet. Your donations will help cover Denise's medical expenses that aren't covered by insurance, hollistic treatments, transportation costs, and any other expense that may come up as she continues her battle.
Denise has been incredibly brave through everything. She has continued to focus on doing well in school and being a good role model to her younger siblings Diana, Daniella, and Alan. She deserves all of the love and support we can offer her!
Thank you in advance for your support!
