I never imagined how much the tragedy of Hurricane Melissa would take from me and my family. In just a few hours, everything we had built, everything we held close, was torn apart. Our home, the place that held our memories, laughter and sense of safety, was left in ruins. I'm Karlisa, a 23 year old residing in Trelawny where the eye of the hurricane passed.

If you've ever known loss or if you've ever stood in the wreckage of what used to be your life and still found the courage to keep going, you know the feeling.

This GoFundMe is our way to start again. We're trying to repair our home, replace basic essentials and find a place where my family can feel safe again. I'm not asking for much , just a chance to rebuild what was lost. No contribution is too small. The funds will go towards repairing our roof and windows which were shattered by the hurricane; replace damaged personal items and furnitures lost and other essential household items.
