Lauren's battle with cancer
Donation protected
My niece, Lauren, was recently diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer).
Over the next 12 months, Lauren will be undergoing an aggressive course of treatment known as a "chemo sandwich" (chemo - surgery - chemo).
The initial set of chemo treatments is already underway. Typically, each time Lauren gets chemo, she will need to stay at the hospital for at least five days. And even on the "off weeks" when she is not receiving chemo, she needs to go to the hospital every few days for testing to monitor her progress. To follow Lauren's journey, please visit Lauren's CaringBridge site, where regular updates are provided: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/laurenwinn
Many of you have asked how you can directly support Lauren's fight against cancer (and we are so appreciative of everyone who has reached out). I have given it some thought and discussed with family, and one way friends and family who desire to do something that directly benefits Lauren and the Winn family is to contribute financially to help cover medical costs and expenses. As you can imagine, the bills for medical expenses have started to come in.
Please consider supporting Lauren and her family to relieve some of the financial burden by contributing to this fund. This Go Fund Me is the simplest and most practical way to accumulate that support.
You can direct any questions about this fund to me, Andrea (Cheryl's sister), and Cheryl's cousins Allison Lam and Wesley Gee. Together, we will maintain this Go Fund Me and ensure all contributions go towards supporting Lauren.
Thanks for your love and support for the Winn family and especially Lauren!!!
