Daisy Needs A New Hip

Donation protected
Hi Everyone!

My name is Elizabeth and I am here to tell you about the amazingly sweet dog, Daisy, that we found hiding between stacks of fence posts in our lumber yard.

On February 4, 2016 the guys in the yard, Robbie and Dustin, spotted a yellow lab hiding just to the side of a stack of fence posts they were about to load. She was scared and timid, but came to Robbie regardless. She had the saddest human eyes we have ever seen in a pup. She followed the guys into the office so we could get a better look at her. The first thing we noticed was that she was favoring her right back leg. She was also emaciated and severely dehydrated. We had some beef jerky and cheese that we gave her, and a small bowl of water. I think she will be eternally grateful. Then we got some wet Ceasar food for her and watched her scarf it down. She laid down beside my chair and slept the afternoon, full and safe.

I took her to a local vet's office and had her scanned for a micro-chip and HOORAH! she had a chip with three contact numbers, registered to Elizabethton, TN shelter, and we learned her name was Daisy. Sweet Daisy. The chip company called and left messages with all three numbers, but they could not release any info other than her name to me. I gave them permission to give my contact info to the owner, should they call back.

I shared Daisy all over social media. I had tons of people reach out to me willing to adopt her, and thank us for taking her in. I even shared her on the Elizabethton animal page.

It is now February 18, 2016 and after multiple attempts to make contact with her registered owners phone numbers, she is still with us, and no one has reached out to claim her.

We recently took her to the vet, as her leg was not showing any signs of improvement, and the diagnoses was not good. Her hip is fractured, and it won't heal on it's own. We have already spent a good chunk on the visit and we are looking at another $2000 or better to repair her hip.

Daisy is an amazing, sweet, well-mannered, obedient dog. It breaks my heart to think someone may not have wanted her. We have all come to love and adore Daisy, and we hate to see her in so much pain. The vet said it has been injured for a while because she is almost tolerant to the pain, when most dogs would be screaming and biting when it is touched, and Daisy just gives you her saddest eyes.

Please, if you can spare a little, it is more than appreciated, and even if you don't have anything to share, just share her story!

Thank you!
