With Heavy Hearts, We Share This on Behalf of Sean and Bailey Mejia
As many of you may not yet know, Sean and Bailey’s youngest son, Calvin, was rushed to Detroit Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025. What was initially believed to be a severe case of pneumonia turned into something far more devastating. Upon arrival, doctors informed Sean and Bailey that their 10-month-old baby boy might have cancer.
Within 24 hours, Calvin underwent surgery and a biopsy. The heartbreaking diagnosis soon followed: T-cell lymphoma.
Calvin has already begun chemotherapy treatments and, by the grace of God and the hands of skilled doctors, is responding well—his lung mass is shrinking. While we’re grateful for this early progress, Calvin has a long journey ahead. He will remain in the hospital for at least a month, and even after discharge, he will continue weekly treatments.
To be close to Calvin during this time, Sean and Bailey will need to temporarily relocate to Detroit with their older son, Hudson. This necessary move, combined with the emotional toll of their situation, is putting a heavy financial strain on their family.
Sean and Bailey are not ones to ask for help, and it took a lot of encouragement for them to allow us to share this. But if you are able, we humbly ask for any support you can offer—whether it be a financial contribution or simply keeping Calvin and the Mejia family in your prayers. Every gesture of love and kindness is deeply appreciated.
For those with questions or wanting updates, we kindly ask that you respect Sean and Bailey’s privacy during this incredibly difficult time. Sean’s father, David Allen, will be available to provide updates as needed.
Thank you to everyone who has already reached out with support, love, and prayers. Your kindness means the world to this family.
