My name is Rhonda Carr. I am from New York, and I am raising funds for my dear friend and sister, Rozan Arida, and her family from Gaza. Rozan is 18 years old and her family consists of her mom, Samah (43), her 3 sisters: Maram (23), Rowan (20), Rimas (16), and her 4 brothers: Ahmed (26), Yazan (12), Amir (10), and Muhammad (5), and her nephew, Rakan (1), and her niece Malak (3 months).

Before October 2023, Rozan and her family had two beautiful homes, one in northern Gaza and one in southern Gaza. Both of them were destroyed by bombardment. Since the destruction of their homes, the Arida family has been displaced countless times and forced to live in multiple rooms, multiple tents, and even on the streets with no protection from the elements.

Over the past 22 months, Rozan and her family have experienced the most unimaginable horrors and tragedies. In September 2024, Rozan’s father left the family to go to Rafah, and he never returned. To this day, the family doesn’t know what happened to him. Every member of the family has suffered greatly from the relentless bombing, the siege, and the blockade. The Arida family has experienced shrapnel injuries, burn injuries, infected insect bites, and/or illness due to poor hygiene, lack of medical care, and poor nutrition. Rozan is still recovering from a debilitating shrapnel injury that required two major surgeries and has left her bedridden since May 2025.

Since March 2025, there has been a blockade on food, medicine, and other essential supplies into Gaza. The Arida family must pay extreme prices for the limited food and supplies that can be found in the markets, and they are now at risk of catastrophic levels of starvation.
