Those that know Ron know his resiliency, work ethic, and perpetual optimism. In February, he was affected by a workforce reduction. In his typical style, he rolled up his sleeves and started looking for employment. He was grateful for the 19 plus years he had spent with the company, and all the relationships he had formed both professionally and personally, He was always quick to say this and concentrated on the fact that this was a business decision only, and that many others had experienced the same situation. After spending most of his professional life living away from family, he and Marsha had planned on moving to Indiana. With circumstances in mind, the timeline was propelled.
March found him anticipating a family visit and searching for homes. Plans changed. While the trip happened, the arduous circumstance in which Ron is in today also began. A dire medical situation arose, necessitating surgery. He and Marsha were able to stay and convalesce due to Marsha’s ability to work remotely during this emergency. God’s providence provided the perfect (unbeknownst to them at the time) home as well as a buyer with no contingencies for their NY home.
However, April was taut with developments out of their control; this consumed an inordinate amount of time and with Ron still trying to regain his health, job searching was once again derailed. With May on the horizon, he can solely concentrate on his career. However, additional issues with the home purchase in Indiana delayed the move into the new house, further adding to the additional expenses of a sustained hotel stay. Ron jumps in full steam ahead with his Faith and continual optimism. Nevertheless, a short two weeks later, he will start the ongoing, challenging state in which he currently finds himself health wise.
Ron has spent six weeks in the hospital since the end of May. Marsha is on FMLA but will need to return to work soon. Her work affords her flexibility and support to take him to numerous medical appointments in his future. He understandably needs to focus on fully returning to health before determining his next steps, employment wise. This is where GoFundMe comes into play. After several friends asked how they could support he and Marsha, financially and most importantly, emotionally, a GFM was set up per their request. Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated and used wisely to return him to health and his future career decisions
