YPD participants gathering
Youth Professional Development, Inc. (YPD) is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization that has successfully provided services in Prince George’s County, MD for 30 years, to over 4,000 students. YPD promotes academic achievement, self-sufficiency, job training, career development and professional image building for our youth.
YPD is raising funds for underserved and displaced teens and their families who are on the front lines, our heroic essential workers.
For 30 years, YPD has navigated times of tragedy and crises to provide support to our community, teens and families. Today, the organization is committed more than ever, to provide services during this crisis such as the following:
· Scholarships for graduating seniors to continue their dreams of receiving a degree or certification
· Paid internships for high school seniors to aid them with internalizing successful work ethics
· Providing pampers and wipes to young families who are in need of additional support
We have also expanded our services to meet the basic needs of our essential workers and their families, by providing gift cards to purchase groceries.
Over 25 years, we have collaborated with Prince George`s County Public Schools to engage our high school students in job readiness skills, critical thinking, and life skills. We have incredible support from our community, corporate, and individual funders to get us started, but we know there is so much more we can and need to do for our youth as we recover from this crisis. However, your DONATION is a start and will aid with meeting their basic needs TODAY.
