Hello. My name is Jennifer. I am a single parent of two beautiful kids. I have been living in our house for almost ten years. However, I lived with my mom who paid half the bills; we split rent and utilities in half, which made life sustainable.

We lost my mom in May of this year, and I have been struggling to stay ahead of bills. I went from paying $1350 per month for rent to now $2700. My utilities went from $500 to $1000. This sounds like a lot, and I know I'm not as bad off as I could be. But now I am going to lose my car because buying food "occasionally" has become more important.

My cupboards are bare, my fridge is empty, and I do not qualify for any help. I have been humbled in many ways, and I thank God for everything he does for me. I am trying to avoid eviction or loss of my only vehicle, let alone keeping the lights on, and am not even considering the holidays.

I am not a greedy person, but I am in need. I pray for help from good people, so I do not lose everything, including the roof over my head.
