Elinor Reilly & Fam Need Our Help
Donation protected
I met Elinor Reilly approximately 15 years ago. She has a wonderful quick wit and her stories about her beloved granddaughter, a toddler at the time and now a teenager, kept me entertained for hours. She became family. We keep in touch across the miles since I have moved to Florida.
She would / will hate that I am doing this for her as she has done everything for herself from raising her two daughters and one son, keeping her parents’ house in Housatonic in the family and having a job [at 78] to help with expenses for her grandchildren.
But now she and her family could use some serious help.
Elinor just had surgery for Stage 4 Uterine Cancer and is awaiting chemotherapy and maybe radiation. Two years ago she had surgery to remove a large infection that was trying to kill her.
Her car is not repairable and her house isn’t much better. She managed to save her house after a long fight with a predatory lender that ended up being brought to the attention of the office of the Mass Attorney General, but the condition of the house suffered while all was in limbo.
She may never be able to go back to work and has no pension.
She and her daughter are feverishly working to take care of Elinor’s 5 grandchildren – so adorable but each with their own issues. That is Taran, her youngest - known as Tucker - in the photo with her.
Thank you so very much for anything you can do and please share this with all of your friends and family.
