Hi, my name is Luis Vazquez. I'm trying to raise some money for my great friend Fern Santiago. He has recently been through 2 leg amputations below the knee. He's is now at Terrance Cardinal Cook rehab center in manhattan. under the supervision The main purpose of the money being raised is to help my friend with a reliable van that is wheelchair ready for him once he is released from the hospital. He will now begin a new chapter in his life without legs, learn how to use prosthetics, and hope to get approved for some form of assistance. He currently has no source of income to help provide for his medical expenses that are coming his way. He has been denied by NY state for disability benefits twice already. Unfortunately, his wife is deceased. His only family in NY is a very supportive brother that keeps him very well motivated despite the overwhelming circumstances he is currently facing. Even though the amount of money will not cover everything coming his way, at least we can try to help with an accommodating form of transportation and some extra money for some other expenses. This is my first time doing something like this online. Fern has done so much for me since we met in 1988. It's time for me to repay him back for all the times he has helped me out and so many others without thinking twice.
