October 28th, 2020 will forever be a day of anguish and remembrance: Yoalmo "Yoyo" Gomez passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving behind his fiancée, Martha, and his two sons, Caleb and Isaiah.
To those who knew him, Yo was a father, a friend, a jokester, a rapper, and #1 head chef of Hard Times; he embodied all things LA and made sure you knew, always rocking a hat or a jersey in support of his teams. He was endlessly proud of his family, and worked tirelessly to provide for them. Caleb was his pride and joy, and although he didn't have much time with Isaiah, the joy in his face when he told friends and coworkers about the pregnancy, and later on, his birth in February, was beyond evident. Martha was the love of his life, and he was so happy to have found her at such a young age.
There are no adequate words to describe the pain, loss and heartbreak that Yo's family, and his friends and coworkers are feeling right now. 2020 has been one hell of a year, and something like this just seems so cruel and unnecessary. Yo wouldn't want us to be sad, though: he was always putting smiles on faces, cracking jokes or goofing off, it was just his nature to be positive and have a good time...so this gofundme is in remembrance of him, and the incredible energy he put out into the world.
Everything raised will be given to Martha and the boys, to support them throughout the funeral, and life beyond. Please donate and share this page, but also leave a message with a memory, so we've all got something to look back on and smile about, to remember the goodness he brought to the world in his 30 years here.
He got to see one final Dodgers World Series win before he passed, and you know he's up in the sky with his idol Kobe, both expecting the Lakers to pull off a championship for LA next!
