YOUTH UNITY FOR SACRED WATERS
Stanley Mission, SK. - The Indigenous tribe of the Woodland/Rocky CREE Nations. A Youth Journey to Standing Rock #NoDAPL Nonviolent Peaceful resistance.
In the spirit of our loved ones, we dedicate this sacred journey to join our relatives in Standing Rock and stand in unity to protect our sacred medicine water. We carry the message of Indigenous knowledge from our ancestors that clearly states, WATER IS LIFE. As the 7th generation Indigenous Youth, we claim our inherent Indigenous responsibility given to us by our Creator as, KEEPERS OF THE EARTH.
A call out to our Indigenous OKIHTCITAWAK: Worthy Young Warriors (Water Protectors)
. We invite our brothers and sisters in the northern isolated First Nations reserves, that have gone through the same experience in the tragic death of our loved ones through youth suicides or other senseless death through alcohol because of the culture of poverty that we exist in. Let us honor our relatives by standing up for mother earth. Let us carry this message by walking down to stand in unity with Standing Rock #NoDAPL NONVIOLENT PEACEFULL RESISTANCE. Our only weapon will be our prayers and our songs.
Join us and follow the flag bearer’s, Ricky Sanderson, Celine Jade Charles, Asa Ballantyne, Charlene Charles, and our spiritual protectors Marge Roberts Mckenzie and Ricky Mckenzie (our Pipe-carrier), as we head south from STANLEY MISSION, Sk.
We may be walking before the coming winter and possible blizzard conditions in our journey but we are the Woodland/Rocky Cree Nation, this is our way of life. However, that does not mean we will needlessly risk our lives as we have the highest respect for grandfather Winter. We will look after each other, call upon our grandfathers and grandmothers to guide and break the trail for us and for all of us a safe return to our home fires. Logistics
We are currently operating from donations received from our political organizations. We will continue fund-raising through GOFUNDME to raise extra cash reserves for the safety of the Youth convoy. However in the meantime for the safety of all, we advise each First Nations community to look after their young ones that wish to participate on this journey. At the same time, the youth flag bearers will not turn away any youth that is unable to receive community support.
We are seeking out relatives that are willing to protect us in our journey by providing us with food and shelter along the trail to Standing Rock. We are prepared to assist relatives with gas/meal and possibly accommodations depending on our GOFUNDME donations.
However always be prepared to look after your youth family member, they need your support. Each community representative should have their own vehicle with family support. Again depending on our funding raising efforts on GOFUNDME, these funds raised will be dedicated to the safety, food, shelter or any emergency situations that the challenges the youth may be confronted with in their healing journey. For them, THIS IS A HEALING JOURNEY!
Please contact the Moderators of YOUTH UNITY FOR SACRED WATERS and/or offer a tobacco to the flag bearers of your intent to join. Announce your acceptance to join, your name and community on our page.
PLEASE DONATE: Support our Indigenous youth healing movement because they fear their future prospects will be SHORT LIVED if the multinational corporations continue to wage environmental destruction of our Indigenous lands, lakes, and rivers.
Funds raised will go towards the safety of the youth caravan in terms of food, shelter, transportation including emergency medical, judicial, and other unforeseen financial circumstances in the convoy of the youth caravan to Standing Rock, and to ensure their safe return home. A’ho!
Join our page and let's meet in unity and in Strength; YOUTH UNITY FOR SACRED WATERS.
