Hey Friends and Family. I'm so thankful you are here and reading this. Two months ago, a dear friend shared information about YWAM, and because of that conversation, my life has taken a radical shift. I am so excited to announce that I have graduated high school a semester early to attend DTS (disciple training school) with Youth With A Mission in Byron Bay, Australia. What is YWAM?
Youth with a Mission (YWAM) defines itself as "an international volunteer movement of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world." The stated purpose of YWAM is "to know God and to make Him known." Ministry teams focus on evangelism through teaching, house construction, medicine, sports, performing arts, and other methods.
My time with YWAM will be a mixture of learning about God's character for three months and then putting what I learn into practice for the next three months as I go out and share the Gospel wherever they decide to send me.
I'm blown away by how fast this has happened, and I completely surrendered and put my plans on hold to say "YES" to the calling God has placed on my heart (1 Samuel 3:9). I have no idea how all this is going to play out, and I've never done anything like this before, but I'm excited to see where the Lord takes me.
With this, I'm asking for you to keep me in your prayers (my parents too, especially my mom) as I take off the fifth of February. The Lord has opened the doors for me with this adventure, and I'm also trusting Him to help me raise the money.
Since you are reading this, I hope you'd be willing to help me. I'm asking for your support financially. Part of this journey is that I have to raise all the money on my own. I'm working to raise $9,000.00 USD to cover expenses of airfare to and from Australia, food, housing, in-country transportation, out of country transportation, health insurance, and airfare.
I hope to be a light to those I meet and to bless them with as much love as God has blessed me. He's always been there even in my darkest moments, and I want to let others know that they serve a Big God who will never leave or forsake them.
