Empowering Young Athletes, Parents, and Local Businesses in London, ON
I’m a soccer player, third-year Civil/Structural Engineering student at Western University, author of Football Made Easy, and a proud youth coach with Whitecaps London FC. I’ve experienced the game from every angle—on the field, behind the whistle, and in the classroom—and now I’m channeling that passion into a new community initiative.
Inspired by the countless young players I’ve met and even mantored and coached across multiple cities—their effort, energy, and dreams—I launched a free weekly newsletter called Soccer Gazette . It’s filled with inspiring stories, Q&A, training tips, and spotlight features. Created for youth, by youth. Printed in full colour and distributed at community hubs across London, ON. The online edition is accessible to anyone at www.civirex.com/soccergazette/latest.
And the funding? It started with my own UberEats tips—each delivery bringing me closer to my goal. My sister and I now support this project through our startup, CiviRex Inc., with a vision to grow its reach and impact.
What Your Support Will Do:
1. Share real stories of young athletes building confidence and leadership
2. Cover weekly printing costs to keep the Gazette free for families
3. Highlight local coaches, teams, and unsung heroes
4. Expand distribution to schools, clubs, and recreation centers
5. Promote mentorship, media literacy, and youth empowerment through sport
The hardcopy edition is a tabloid-sized (11"×17") double-sided full-colour print, produced at discounted rates through Western University’s Printing Services in London, ON. Our weekly costs are: $650 for printing 500 copies & $100 for online publishing and social media outreach.
We’re seeking to raise $9,000 to sustain this initiative for the next 12 weeks, powered entirely by free of cost volunteer efforts. We believe this community-focused newsletter will attract enough local advertisers in the comming 12 weeks to sustain the growth. Furthermore, we are extending invites to many local businesses and not-for-profit organizations to establish long term relationship for sustaining this initiative.
Let’s build a community where young people feel seen, heard, and supported—through the game they love. Thank you for being part of their journey.
Whether it's a lump sum, weekly contribution, or even $5—every bit helps print a few copies and share this uplifting resource with someone who needs it.
