Youth Polo Player Needs Help To Attend Semi-Finals
Donation protected
I am trying to help my son raise the funds needed to attend the United States Polo Association semi-finals, representing the Southeastern Region at The University of Virginia Polo Center and hopefully, the finals in Houston, Texas, in addition to other upcoming tournaments. I have had a change in jobs recently and need assistance in raising the funds for him to attend the Interscholastic US Polo Championship. As many of Michael’s peers and coaches (even from other teams) have noted, he’s the first to offer help and one of the hardest working kids in the sport. He is also a very caring kid who always stands up for others in need. We do not come from a polo family and Michael started playing just over 2 years ago. In that short time, with the help of his team and coach, he has been awarded MVP at many of his tournaments. His coach believes he can be very successful in the sport. Recently, Michael was interviewed by a local TV station for a story on his youth team and he shared his love of polo and his horses. Any support you can provide will help cover the costs associated with tournament fees, dues , travel, and care for his horses for both tournaments and his spring playing season. All of his horses and much of his equipment has been donated by players who recognize his talent and graciously wanted to help him suceed in the sport and life. I believe in paying it forward and once I get back on my feet I will pay it for forward to others in need; but, at this time, I cannot financially provide this for my child, and I want him to have this once in a lifetime opportunity. Any donations made will go into a special account that his grandfather oversees and requires all three of us to sign off on to ensure all funds are responsibly managed by him and two adults. We would love to send photos and updates if you as a donor would like to follow Michael’s progress. We will also provide references from his coach and other people involved in his pursuit of the support. His goal is to play polo through college and help others wanting to get involved in this terrific sport. Thank you in advance.
