Youth Opera Ireland is on a mission to empower young voices through opera giving children and young people a platform to create, perform, and discover their artistic potential. Our upcoming 2026 production, The Wish Thief, is an imaginative new opera that will be co-created with young performers from across Ireland - but we can’t do it without your help.

What The Wish Thief Is All About

The Wish Thief is a magical and thought-provoking opera that tells a story of dreams, rules, and unexpected change through music and theatre. Young people aged 8-16 will take part in auditions, workshops, rehearsals, and performances, cultivating confidence, creativity, and collaboration.

This production isn’t just a performance - it’s an immersive artistic journey where young voices are deeply involved in shaping the work from the beginning.
