Hi everyone!

My name is Arlean and I’m working toward something that means the world to me — moving to the UK through the Youth Mobility Scheme Visa to live and work there for up to three years.

I’ve spent my whole life in Canada, and while I love it here, I’ve always had this deep pull to get out and see more of the world — to experience life somewhere new, meet new people, and grow while I’m still young. I don’t want to look back one day wishing I had taken the chance to explore when I could.

And, of course, I couldn’t imagine doing it without my best friend — my dog, Maisy. She’s been by my side through everything, and she goes absolutely everywhere with me. The thought of starting this new adventure without her just wouldn’t feel right, so part of my goal is to bring her along to share it with me.

My plan is to move in mid to late 2027, but before I can apply for the visa, there are a few big financial steps I need to complete. To qualify, I have to show proof that I’ve had £2,530 saved in my bank account for at least 28 days, which shows I can support myself when I arrive. On top of that, there are several other expenses, including:

• £1,552 – healthcare surcharge for two years of medical coverage in the UK

• £319 – visa application fee

• Additional costs for flights, travel prep, and paperwork to bring my dog with me safely

I’m saving from my own paychecks, but I live pretty much month-to-month, so reaching that full amount on my own will take time. Any donation — big or small — helps me get closer to making this dream possible.

This isn’t just about travel for me. It’s about building a new chapter of my life — exploring the world while I still can, learning from new experiences, and growing into the person I want to be.
