Hello, my name is Gary, one of the co-founders of Evolve Film Festival.

We are a new, not for profit members association, set up to encourage global YOUTH filmmaking and to provide a platform to showcase the work of young talents and help them gain industry experience. Your help will fund youth creativity, inspiring, training and rewarding young filmmakers.

We have secured some match funding, so we really need your help to reach our first target of £5,000. This combined funding will allow us to run the film festival for two years, as well as covering one-off set up costs such as building a website. Your donations will go towards prizes and helping fund our workshops.

We are based in the UK (near Reading) and are overseen by a group of passionate volunteers, who run FREE workshops on story, camera, sound and editing, to aid those who are new to the rewards and fun of film making. Over time, we would like to make these workshops more accessible globally.

Each year, we stage a glitzy red carpet event, to showcase the work of our young creatives, awarding meaningful prizes to help on their film education journeys.

Other co-founders include writer Jesse Cleverly Hungerford (2014), The Last Bus (2022) and Lottie Bearshout 'Good as Goaled' (2016). Lucas Friedmann, broadcast TV editor and Creative Director for London Sync, a tv/film music production company and Robert Kapp, Partner at Such Content, Straight Circle (2025) and It's What's Inside (2024).

As well as being a youth film competition, our ambition is to grow Evolve into a global platform to showcase youth creativity, where we can offer funded commissions to young creatives for short film scripts and film funding.
