Homelessness and Poverty are a very real problem in our little city. During Covid, the number of our Alameda citizens that are
homeless, unsheltered & living in poverty
has grown greatly. This includes kids of all ages. The Alameda Point Collaborative has been providing help and services since our naval base closed.
The Education Center is a hub of activity
where school-aged children get support
with homework, one-on-one tutoring and
participate in special enrichment activities.
The folks who work here donate so much
time and energy to the kids. They recently pulled together to paint, add a garden
sanctuary and revamp the center. I
donated and volunteered but saw a need
for washable rugs in the 2 classrooms. The rugs are large and will be about $1000. Any help is appreciated and the center is a non-profit 5013c so donations are tax
deductible. Thank you! Here’s info ❤️
