My name is Youssef Al-Bahtini, I’m 20 years old, and I am writing this because I want to live.

After almost two years of war in Gaza, I have lost my home, my city, and many of the people I love. Every day I wake up surrounded by destruction, hunger, and death. I am doing everything I can to survive, but now I need your help to escape before it’s too late.

Right now, there is no safe way to leave Gaza. That’s why this fundraiser is focused on my urgent humanitarian needs: food, medicine, shelter, and communication. Every contribution helps me stay alive and stay connected, while I wait and hope for a chance to reach safety one day. Your donation can truly make the difference between life and death for me.

Escaping war also means finding a safer place even within Gaza, away from the yellow line and danger zones marked by the IDF.

All donations go directly to cover basic survival costs, including emergency supplies and mobile access.

I was born and raised in Gaza under occupation and constant war. When I was 12 years old, I broke a Guinness World Record in acrobatics and dreamed of inspiring others through art and movement. Even during the war, I performed for children as part of Humanitarian work, trying to give them moments of joy and hope when everything around us was broken.

Now, for the first time, I am asking for help, not for my dreams, not for others right now, but for my life.

About the person behind the Fundraiser

My name is Svala Ásdísardóttir and I am from Iceland, but I live in Sweden where I work as a freelancing journalist, teacher, and interpreter. I’m trying to save Youssef’s life and help him escape the war in Gaza. Now there is a ceasefire so he has a chance.

I am a friend of Youssef's brother Mohammed Albahtini. He was assisting Youssef abroad during his quest to break the World record. All this is well documented. You can watch the videos on Youssef’s Instagram profile in the Highlights section.

 I can assure you that Youssef is not affiliated with any political organizations or armed groups of any kind. He is just an ordinary civilian, with extraordinary talents, trying to survive the Genocide in Gaza.
