Hello my name is Amber. I am on a tough yet rewarding road to Medical School. I want to be an Osteopathic Physician, and I plan on bringing back the holisitc aspect of medicine. I will be the doctor that listens to her patients and I will do everything in my power as a physician to heal the person as a whole and not just the illness or symptoms, to acheive wellness.
On March 2nd I discovered the Atlantis Project. The Atlantis Project is an organization designed to help pre-med students fulfil shadow experience necessary to apply to medical school. This is an amazing opportunity for pre-med students to immerse ourselves in the profession and learn in the real world. This opportunity also gives us more insight into how other cultures and health systems operate so that we may become more open minded and well rounded individuals in the medical community. On March 3rd I was contacted and taken off the waiting list to apply for the program. However, the application was due by March 7th. On March 15th I was interviewed, on March 16th I was accepted and was told the total program fee was due by April 14th. I have since been approved for an extention to pay the program fee until May 1st. I am extremely excited for this opportunity because it is a growth experience and will give me a much broader perspective on the type of doctor I will be. I will be traveling to Rome, Italy for 4 weeks shadowing doctors in a childrens hospital.

My program cost is $5,099. This program fee is due April 14, 2017. My goal is $8,000 because my program is 4 weeks long. I will need at least $600 to support myself for the 4 weeks I am there. The remainder will assist with the income I will be losing during that time, and will take some of the stress off of my boyfriend who is doing all that he can to support my career goals. Any donation is greatly appreciated and I am more than happy to give updates and share pictures or details from the trip upon my return. Any and all donations will be more than appreciated they will be cherished and any one who donates will always be apart of my story to becoming the best physician I can be. This opportunity means everything to me because I want to be the best doctor I can be for my future patients. Any and all experiences I can grow and learn from before obtaining my doctorate degree will help me be Your Friendly Neighborhood Doctor.
