Your Love Can Save Polo's Life

On February 14, 2020, our beloved dog Polo was ran over by a large white pick-up truck at high speed. Sadly, it was a hit and run on Valentine’s Day – the most loving day of the year. He was transferred 2 times between 3 hospitals and is now being cared for at the Canada West Veterinary Specialist Hospital in Vancouver, BC.
He is currently in critical condition fighting for his life, diagnosed with a pneumothorax and is suffering from multiple traumatic contusions to both his lungs. Polo was having difficulty breathing on his own and was put on ventilation 14 hours after being admitted. Despite being in critical condition, his doctors expect him to recover after being on ventilation for 5-7 days. He is currently on day 1 of ventilation as of February 15, 2020.
Polo is responding well to the treatments, however his life is dependent on further medical care.
Medical bills are currently at $8,000. We are expected to pay an additional $20,000 just for another 5 days of ventilation ($4000/day)
Donations made to this page will help fund all the medical expenses, such as digital radiographs (multiple X-rays), pleuravac set-up, invasive BP monitoring, an arterial line placement, chest tube placement, high flow airvo oxygen circuit, IV medications and overnight ventilation.
Our family would greatly appreciate any contributions you can make as they will help save Polo’s life. He is only 3 years old and is not just a dog to us - he is our family, our best friend, and our world.
