Ivybridge Town Girls under 9's have been going for only 12 months, so a relatively new team. The team are going to take on a huge challenge, walking a 10km route around Dartmoor.

The team will work together to navigate the route (with parental guidance, don't worry!), and would like to raise funds for their chosen charity and the team!

The funds that are raised will be split 50/50 with the chosen charity and the team. The chosen charity which has been voted for across the parents is St Luke's Hospice.

This charity is close to home and has supported some of the families who are involved in the team. St Luke's Hospice is a local independent charity that provide specialist care and support for people with progressive life-limiting illnesses.

The team will use the remaining funds to support in things such as equipment, team building events, and kit.

This football team has not only built footballing skills for the players, but it has built physical fitness, enhancing health, increased confidence, teamwork, resilience, and inclusion across all of the players. The training, the matches, and the events that we have took part in so far has brought so much value and change to their lives.

Being part of this girls team is a powerful tool for empowering young women and helping girls feel included in a sport and community that was historically male-dominated.
